Te Pouhere Korero (www.tepouherekorero.org.nz) operates as a broadcollective of Maori colleagues interested in history. It was established in November 1992, at an inaugural hui convened at Rongopai Marae at Waituhi, near Gisborne, Aotearoa New Zealand. The official journal,Te Pouhere Karero: Maori History, Maori People, focuses on Maori and Indigenous history.

Members have included scholars and writers such as Keri Kaa, Miria Simpson and Manuka Henare, as well as CharlesRoyal, Danny Keenan and Monty Soutar.
Edited by Nepia Mahuika and Arini Loader, Te Pouhere Karero: Maori History, Maori People 10 focuses on the new history curricula launched across all schools in Aotearoa New Zealand in 2023. A number of Pouhere historians have been involved in this process as advisors, writers and developers.
