Behavioral Neurology
Paperback Edition: 4
This title provides an account of the behavioural aspects of neurological conditions and the neurological aspects of psychiatric disorders. Earlier editions of the text presented the view that disordered brain function underlies psychiatric illnesses. A more balanced view characterizes this fourth edition, in which the
authors discuss data from the neurosciences and molecular biology, including changes in the brain induced by the environment and by emotions. There is also a new clinical chapter on differentiating the etiologies of disturbed behaviour.
Contents: Epilepsy and Behaviour; Violence and Neurobiology; Schizophrenia; Disorders of Cognitive Function; Movement, Mood and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders; Distinguishing Neurological from Psychiatric Symptoms; Clinical Evaluation.
