This exciting book described as ‘fascinating because there is so much to learn from the different authors who have created a feast to last a lifetime’ by Professor of Education (retired) Konai Holeva Thaman will be launched this Friday. Acting Vice Chancellor of the Fiji National University Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba will launch ReSTORYing the Pasifika Household globally. The book is an attempt by the Pacific Theological College to provide insights into articulating the current situation of Pasifika household, drawing on our rich Pasifika faith and indigenous traditions and spiritualities, and how these can assist the region to inform policies, and mitigate the impacts of climate change and the development practices that deplete our people’s resilience and sense of sustainability and restraint. The contributing authors are renowned Pacific theologians and scholars such as Kabini Sanga, Manulani Meyer, Jione Havea, Afereti Uili, Sereima Naisilisili, Tevita Havea, Melanie Anae, Frances Vaka’uta, Jenny Te Paa, Arnie Siaki, Theresa Fox, and others. This is a first volume to articulate the Pacific household vision, with Editors Rev. Dr Upolu Vaai (PTC Principal) and Aisake Casimira (Director of the Institute for Mission and Research).
