Description

This book provides information on the nature of fossils such as their formation, age, identification and uses. It is presented in an informal manner, particularly suitable for children nine to thirteen years of age.

Before Joan Joass started writing this book, she asked a group of children from the intermediate and senior classes at Waioneke School, What are ten things you'd most like to know about fossils? This book includes simple answers to their most common questions.

The information presented is based on the author's background knowledge and experience gained after graduating with a BSc degree from the University of Auckland, majoring in palaeontology, structural geology and chemistry.
