Description

This year we are marking fifty years of the Chartwell Trust’s involvement with and support of the visual arts in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The first Chartwell Collection acquisitions were made in March 1974. From the very beginning, all acquisitions went immediately into public gallery care. Chartwell believes in the public gallery as a bridge between artists and the public audience who all ultimately want to understand their creative potential more deeply.
