Description

Since the publication of the first edition of this book in 1989, a great deal has changed, although some of the themes and ideas relevant at the time endure. Among the new issues to emerge are the inclusion of the Treaty in a large range of legislation, greater recognition by the Crown of its duty to recognise the Treaty, and the transformation of the claims process. This new edition of Waitangi retains all the strengths of the original edition whilst addressing new issues that have emerged over the 1990s and early in the twenty-first century.

Edited by Michael Belgrave, Associate Professor of Social Policy, Massey University; Merata Kawharu, Honorary Research Fellow, University of Auckland; and David Williams, Associate Professor of Law, University of Auckland.
