Late in 2020, nine Hato Paora College students came together for three creative writing wananga led by the editors Anahera Gildea and Nadine Anne Hura together with Dallas Karangaroa, Rex Letoa, Laniyuk Larrikia, Ihaka Tunui, and Karen Leef Te Rarawa. This beautiful book is the result. This project was brought to life in collaboration with multiple partners including Te Whe, Toi Maori, International Institute of Maori Letters, Ngai Taura, Featherston Booktown, Creative New Zealand, Ministry of Education Te Tahuhu o Te Matauranga, Te Herenga Waka and Read NZ Te Pou Muramura.
