This book and accompanying CD focus on the most important sub-dicipline of the art form known as Hunga Mate - properly tanslated as 'the dead' or more appropriately the 'sacred references to the dead'. It is a study of formulaic sacred references to the dead and formal conclusions in indigenous oral literature, and also provides an insight into the traditional beliefs regarding the spitual realm.
