Brookers Unit Titles Handbook 2011

In June 2011 the Unit Titles Act 2010 will come into force. This will repeal and replace the Unit Titles Act 1972, providing a new legal framework for the joint ownership and management of land, buildings and facilities by communities of individual owners on a socially and economically sustainable basis.
The changes to the legislation are significant, reflecting the changing nature of the property market in New Zealand.
Rod Thomas, Barrister and Senior Lecturer at AUT Law School, is an expert in this field. He has provided a valuable, extensive introduction and critical analysis on important features of the new regime. In doing so, he includes an analysis of Australian case law and practice relevant to the new legislation, as well as addressing issues in bringing body corporate disputes before the Tenancy Tribunal.
Brookers Unit Titles Handbook 2011 consolidates into one volume the key legislation relevant to the new Unit Titles regime, including the Unit Titles Act 2010 and the relevant regulations. The book contains a table comparing the sections of the Unit Titles Act 1972 with those of the Unit Titles Act 2010 as well as key regulations governing the new regime (including the new Dispute Resolution regulations).
