Journey from Music Student to Teacher : A Professional Approach

Written for the Introduction to Music Education course, From Music Student to Teacher helps prospective music educators begin their transition from music student to professional music educator. The textbook is divided into four parts: (a) discovery of self, (b) discovery of teaching, (c) discovery of learners, and (d) discovery of the profession. These first three parts address the three primary stages of teacher development and the final part introduces the theoretical foundations of the text and the process of becoming an insider to the profession.
