Description

Under the Dundas Street Bridge is a quirky look at life around Dunedin and beyond. Sometimes serious, sometimes poking the borax. It’s personal too. The author takes us tripping down alleyways of his own confusion: waterbottle in backpack, notepad in hand, stalking the town like an evangelist on a mission … and there are long-unhealed conflicts with family and faith that needs resolving. Born in Christchurch (the son of a clergyman), Peter Olds was Robert Burns Fellow in 1978. In 2005 he received the Janet Frame Trust Award for poetry. The Best of Best New Zealand Poems (2011) included his ‘Disjointed on Wellington Railway Station’.
