Why would you leave paradise?
Marama is awakened. Her journey, both spiritual and physical, will traverse the Pacific Ocean and the realm of her spirit ancestors. The peace of an idyllic island home is shattered, when fickle tides steer enemy waka to their shore. They must fight for survival, have faith in their old ones and trust a former enemy. Drawn into the centre of conflict, village politics and an epic voyage, Marama staunchly refuses to be defeated. Instead, she forms unlikely and unsettling alliances. Entrusted with the sacred knowledge of generations, Marama and her people must brave the unpredictable ocean and find a new home. Love flourishes in unexpected places, only complicating Marama's life further.
