iiTomo 1 : New Zealand Adaptation of Japanese Language Student Book

Adapted for New Zealand, iiTomo is a new national series for Japanese. With its groundbreaking approach to intercultural language learning (IcLL), this three-level series is the most up-to-date and comprehensive course for teachers and students beginning Japanese in secondary school. The Student Book includes the explicit use of IcLL principles, such as analysing, noticing, making connections and reflecting on one’s own and others’ language(s) and culture(s), provides rich and meaningful learning. Script (hiragana and kanji) is introduced in purposeful and meaningful contexts. In iiTomo 1, hiragana is introduced progressively in the first three chapters so that students learn to read and write quickly and confidently. A total of 27 kanji are introduced.
