Enabling Occupation II : Advancing an Occupational Therapy Vision for Health Wellbeing and Justice Through Occupation

The Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) has a long history of working with members to generate visions and develop guidelines for the present and future practice of occupational therapy in Canada. In the 1980s the CAOT produced the first set of guidelines, focused on client-centred practice. These were followed by the 1990s guidelines which saw the evolution of client-centred practice into enabling occupation. Enabling Occupation II (2007) involved more than 60 CAOT members who defined occupational therapy theory and practice in the 21st century.

Enabling Occupation II (2007) offered visual tools to capture key content in the first three Sections:
Section I: Canadian Model of Occupational Performance & Engagement (CMOP-E)
Section II: Canadian Model for Client-Centred Enablement (CMCE)
Section III: Canadian Practice Process Framework (CPPF).
