Railway Stations in New Zealand-s Landscapes

A fascinating collection of photographs, taken between 2006 and 2017, showing New Zealand railway stations within their surrounding landscapes.Reproduced variously in half-page, full page and double-page formats, the photographs illustrate a huge range of stations, from the countrys largest (Wellington) to its smallest (Ashhurst), and from some of its newest (eg Onehunga) to some of its oldest (eg Matamau).

Some of the stations are fully active (eg Sunnyvale). Others are situated on active lines, but the buildings are used for non-rail purposes (eg Oamaru), or are derelict (eg Totara Flat). Others (eg Harbourside), are situated on heritage lines.

For some (eg Glenhope), the lines they once served have been removed. Lyttelton is shown before it was demolished.

The landscapes depicted include alpine (eg Arthurs Pass), provincial towns (eg Balclutha), rural (eg Ruru), suburban (eg Plimmerton) and CBD (eg Auckland).
