The book, entitled He Huinga Whetu, he Huinga Korero, A Gathering of Stars, a Gathering of Stories, is the
result of the hard work and effort of Journalism, Photography and Graphic Design students at Wintec in Hamilton. With a client brief in mind and a list of people to work with, students worked to contact interviewees, set up meetings and conduct photoshoots, as well as pitch design ideas for the publication. It was a very hands-on process which resulted in a hearty and high quality output. The publication is a celebration of Maori achievement. It is recorded in both English and Te Reo Maori, with interviewees coming from a variety of careers including journalism, hospitality, counselling and sports science.
